Dear Faculty Members and Students, We hope this message finds you well :
Recently (December 19, 2025), an incident of indiscriminate violence occurred in society.
When faced with sudden and difficult-to-understand events of this nature,
it is common to experience emotions such as fear, sadness, anger, or helplessness.
Some individuals may also notice changes in sleep, appetite, or concentration.
These are natural and understandable reactions to a major shock and do not indicate that something is wrong with you,
nor is there any need to blame yourself.
In the period following such events, many people may find themselves repeatedly checking news reports
or online information in an effort to understand what happened and to reassure themselves of their safety.
However, excessive exposure to related content may intensify feelings of anxiety and distress.
If you notice that your emotions are being significantly affected, we encourage you to limit your consumption of related media
and allow yourself space to gradually return to your daily routine.
Everyone copes at their own pace and in their own way.
Please allow yourself to slow down, and do not feel pressured to return to normal immediately.
If emotional distress continues to affect your daily life, or if you feel the need for support and someone to talk to,
we encourage you to stay connected with trusted friends, family members, or faculty.
In addition, the Counseling and Health Center is always available to provide support and accompany you through this unsettling time.
